Does this sound familiar?

A targeted solution for your installation.

Assessing a workplace

Assess light levels and distribution for the agreed use.

Common areas

Define the areas and criteria to assess for your association of co-owners (VME).

Have a lighting design assessed through calculations

Assess the proposed light fittings and their positions.

We define the areas, options, calculations and documentation covered. A calculation is not an on-site measurement at handover; measurements and installation are specified separately.

A lighting study provides a basis for choosing your lighting

A lighting layout sets out the positions; a lighting study uses calculations to assess the light delivered to agreed surfaces. These might be a home workspace, a company's offices or a shared passage in an apartment building. Wattra starts with the intended use and proposed fittings. We define the question, areas and criteria the study covers.

Not only how much light, but also how it is distributed

Calculations can assess illuminance and uniformity on agreed surfaces. The area's function determines what matters: a workspace needs a different approach from a passage. Glare may also need consideration. We agree which criteria and results the study covers; a single average value does not describe the overall lighting quality.

A useful calculation requires concrete data

Dimensions, mounting heights, selected fittings and their photometric data form the basis. Indoors, layout and finishes also matter; outdoors, the arrangement and surrounding conditions are relevant. We agree the assumptions as part of the scope. If a fitting, position or significant finish changes later, the calculations may need reassessment.

What results and documents do you get?

We agree how to document the calculated results, assumptions and any changes to fitting selection or positions. This includes the options to investigate and the documentation required. A calculation is not an on-site measurement at handover, and the study is not a general declaration of compliance. Any measurements and indoor or outdoor lighting installation are specified separately in the proposal.

Good to know

Your questions. Clear answers.

What determines the price of a lighting study?

The size and complexity of the areas, available building and fitting data, options assessed and required documentation determine the work. Missing information may require an additional site survey. We define the study and any measurements or installation in advance; no single standard price suits every project.

Do I need to choose the light fittings first?

Calculations require photometric data for the proposed fittings. You do not need to have selected them when you first contact us. We discuss the selection and which options will be assessed within the agreed scope.

Yes. Based in Sint-Niklaas, Wattra handles requests from Waasland and across Flanders for homes, businesses and associations of co-owners. Send your municipality, the intended use of each area and any available plans. We discuss which information or site survey is needed and what the work covers.
